so according to the xian god no one should believe whatever came out of the mouth of the xian god.
but wait....in just a few chapters he changes his mind...
"even if i testify on my own behalf, my testimony is valid." john 8:14
I don't know if it will do any good, but notice that the same type of accusations of "contradictions" are levelled against the Tanach. You know of the "Answer not a fool according to his folly" versus "Answer a fool according to his folly." Proverbs 26:4-5. The skeptics who make that attack are making the same error you are making in attacking the NT as you are.
If you read the quotes of Jesus carefully, like I have, looking for a solution, instead of looking for the "Aha!" moment to find the fatal flaw in the NT, you might notice that in both cases, Jesus is making the point that to be valid, testimony has to be corroborated by at least one more witness. In the first statement, just after he said that his judgment was correct, he is saying that his witness of himself is not true, implying his witness alone. In the second example in John 8, he says that his witness is true because he is saying what he knows is true and because it is corroborated (John 8:16-1
. So, in summary, my witness about myself is not true, because it needs to be corroborated by a second witness. At the same time, my witness about myself is true because it is corroborated by a second witness.
