Hi Sophiee, So, Thomas, are you calling Jsus a fool for once saying that the testimony of one man is not enough, and then saying just the opposite later?

No, none of us Christians are doing such a thing because we believe that Jesus is the messiah.

Sophiee, instead of me giving you a verse by verse explanation, I would suggest casually reading again 8:14 through 8:59 - just following the conversation without the magnifying glass to get a visual, just like you were there, of the discussion going back and forth between the Pharisees and Jesus. The understanding is there, but your desire to find contradictions is inhibiting you, IMHO.

The overview is that Jesus was telling the Pharisees that he was from above, but they didn't believe him.

btw, when you are reading those verses, when it says "the Jews", the gospels are written through the eyes of the apostles who were Galileans, who were not from Jerusalem. Calling them "Jews" in that particular set of verses was just their way of referring to the Pharisees who were verbally sparing with Jesus. Is is not meant to be anti-semitic.

Peace,

Doug L.
