Dougg, you'd better check again because the number is NOT zero.

The women went into Eretz Yisrael. It was the men who died in that generation.

Your conclusion as to "why" they were excluded is based on your own opinion and thus you reach erroneous conclusions. The text clearly says that was not a MAN (no mention of women).

Why? It has nothing to do with original sin. It had nothing to do with "not believing in G-d" (Dougg they had HEARD G-d, how could they suddenly "not believe"?

The problem was a lack of trust, not a lack of belief. The men believed the report of the spies who came back and said that they couldn't beat the current residents. The men said:

Quote:
Let us appoint a leader and return to Egypt! (Numbers 14:4)

Now the women did the opposite and said

Quote:
"Give us a portion (Numbers 27:4).

As for all those quotes from Deuteronomy 9 -- you are making the same error of putting your opinion over what the Torah states. None of us are perfect (and this is what Deuteronomy IS saying). Torah also says that G-d made us this way. We are also not some horrible sinful from birth monster.

Read Torah, Dougg -- all of it. Continue on and you'll see that this is Moses' speech and it continues to say that G-d STILL gave the Jews both Torah and Israel. It goes on also to say:

Quote:
10:12 And now, Israel, what does G-d want of you? Only that you remain in awe of G-d your L-rd, so that you will follow all His paths and love Him, serving G-d your L-rd with all your heart and with all your soul.

Following His path with all your soul. Don't become an idolater and start worshipping human beings or men as gods.

Quote:
10:13 You must keep G-d's commandments and decrees that I am prescribing for you today, so that good will be yours.

Keep the commandments (so when someone comes along named Jsus or Paul or Mohammed or John Smith don't be led astray from his mitzvot).

Quote:
10:14 The heaven, the heaven of heaven, the earth and everything in it, all belong to G-d! 10:15 Still, it was only with your ancestors that G-d developed a closeness. He loved them and therefore chose you, their descendants, from among all nations, just as the situation is today. 10:16 Remove the barriers from your heart and do not remain so stubborn any more! 10:17 G-d your L-rd is the ultimate Supreme Being and the highest possible Authority. He is the great, mighty and awesome G-d, who does not give special consideration or take bribes. 10:18 He brings justice to the orphan and widow, and loves the foreigner, granting him food and clothing. 10:19 You must also show love toward the foreigner, since you were foreigners in the land of Egypt.
10:20 Remain in awe of G-d, serve Him, cling to Him, and swear by His name. 10:21 He is your praise and your G-d, the One who did for you these great and awesome deeds that you saw with your very eyes. 10:22 Your ancestors emigrated to Egypt with only seventy individuals, but now G-d your L-rd has made you as numerous as the stars of the sky.

And everything that Sarah tells you, listen to her voice. Genesis, 21:12
