It's not a matter of uncovering archaeology to prove it, we know that the practice didn't start until a certain point, and it just so happens to correspond to the times and even prior to the writing of the gospels. This is an undeniable case of Jsus being written - and "persecuted" - in the context of the times of the authors of the 70s, 80s, and beyond, and not in the 30s when it's characters and story are set. I don't expect you to abandon your beliefs over it, just as I wouldn't expect any learned Jew to willingly look past details like this.
I asked for strength, and G-d gave difficulties to make me strong. I asked for wisdom, and G-d gave me problems to solve. I asked for prosperity, and G-d gave me brawn and brain to work. I asked for courage, and G-d gave me dangers to overcome. I asked for love, and G-d gave me troubled people to help. I asked for favors, and G-d gave me opportunities. I received nothing I wanted. I received everything I needed. My prayers were answered.
