This is similar to the other thread (re: Jesus' trial) ... what is source[s] are you using to back up your assertions that handwashing was not required in Jesus' day?
Tractate Shabbos? Which was put to paper when? And the earliest extant copy dates to ?

You may think me rude for questioning you, but since you and other countermissionaries consistently try to demean and discredit my religion, I consider it quite reasonable to point out that the sources you rely on for your determinations are far removed from the actual timeframe of events under discussion.
Our scriptures claim to be giving a contemporaneous account, and extant Christian manuscripts are dated much closer to the events in question than are those of Judaism.
