I realize there are several different dates according to different scholars. I used the "Chronological Table" in the back of Soncino's "The Pentateuch and Haftorahs" (p. 1052). In that table they also point to the date of 1335 B.C.E. that was proposed by Prof. Eduard Mahler (a Jewish Hungarian orientalist and authority on Jewish chronology; 1857-1945), and to the date of 1447 B.C.E. that was proposed by John Garstang (a British archaeologist; 1876-1956).
