Deuteronomy 34:10 "Never again has there arisen in Israel a prophet like Moses, whom HASHEM had known face to face, ..." uses the past tense. It seems to me to be saying that up to this point in time, there hasn't arisen another prophet like Moses. But it wouldn't seem to rule such a possibility in the future. Why then does everyone assume 'Never again WILL there arise'?
