Shavua Tov
Wow, what do you know? A double wammie Vayakhel: Of course, Vayakhel describes how the Mishkan was constructed, yet Moshe's instructions to Klal Yisrael on how to observe the Shabbat coupled with his warning to Klal Yisrael on how important it is to keep Shabbat are given first priority. Moshe taught Klal Yisrael the 39 principal labors (avos melachos), which are forbidden from performing on Shabbat. ( ) Quote: This comes to teach us that NOTHING (with the exception of "pikuach nefesh", matters of life or death) come before observing the Shabbat. Pekudai: Although the contruction of the Mishkan was completed on the 25th of Kislaiv, 2449, Hashem gave Moshe instruction to NOT consecrate the Mishkan until the month of Nissan because this is a month in which the shechina illuminates the world, and the task of the Mishkan is to bring light to the world. In order NOT to insult the month of Kislev, this month was chosen for the month of Chanukka (and MY birthday There were those who tried to set up the Mishkan before the date that Hashem had set, but they did NOT succeed in getting the Mishkan to stand no matter what they did, yet when Moshe came to set it up on the appropriate date, as commanded by Hashem, Moshe was able to merely touch the beams, which miraculoulsy placed themselves in their respective positions. () Quote: Unfortunately, after the destruction of the Beit HaMikdash, the shechina has once again departed from the earth. May we merit to bring the shechina back down to earth with our mitzvot which will hasten the arrival of Moshiach, the building of the Beit HaMikdash HaShlishi, and the return of all Jews to Eretz Yisrael bimheira be'yamainu (speedily, in our days) ___________________________________________________ "Study astronomy and physics if you desire to comprehend the relation between the world and G-d's management of it." - Maimonides, The Guide for the Perplexed "Torah and science are NOT contradictory, but two truths." www.askmoses.com "Be diligent in studying Torah and know what to answer to a heretic."- Rabbi Elazar, Pirkei Avot 2:19 |
