Do not steal. Do not worship false gods. Do not be sexually immoral. Do not eat a limb removed from a live animal. Do not curse God. Set up courts and bring offenders to justice. (I say commonly because sometimes they are stated differently or in a different order.) I was wondering about Genesis 9:1 and 9:7. Rashi says the first "Be fruitful and multiply" is a blessing from G-d and the second time it is written (9:7) is a command from G-d. "7. And you, be fruitful and multiply. According to its simple meaning: the first [mention of this expression] (verse 1) was a blessing, and this [mention] is a commandment." (from Chabad.org, Artscroll Stone Edition TANACH, and Artscroll Stone Edition Chumash) So I guess my question is since this is a direct command from G-d instead of inferred like the other 7, why is it not included in the Noahide Laws ? Since this commandment was not given again at Sinai to the nations, only Israel is obligated to this commandment. AP

If he didn't put this desire into animals and people there would be no life here on this planet. Everything would die out. what happens if a person is not able to get pregnant? How do they obey this commandment?

How do they obey this commandment? If it's impossible to fulfill a commandment it's impossible to fulfill this commandment. It has been the same way with the sacrifices. It has been impossible to make sacrifices because there isn't a temple. The children of Israel are commanded to only bring sacrifices to the Temple in Jerusalem, if there isn't a temple then they can't bring sacrifices. AP

In other words are they allowed to use birth control when they feel they have reach the number of children they want?
