This was recently discussed on the CM forum: Jewish view of gentiles at the end of days.
Included in this thread is an article on the subject from Aish. In a nutshell: prophecies of bad things happening are warnings -- we can change them (reverse them). G-d set before us a blessing and a curse, not just a curse. Check out the link.
