If they are added on, then what are they doing in a book that is supposed to represent the most reliable word of God?
The one that I attended that accepted this passage, would also say that if you were stupid enough to test their god that way, you would die and it would be your fault.
Ok, fine, presuming Zero does not accept it as authorative, then we have a even better verse
John 14:11-14
Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves
Verily, verily, I(Jesus) say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
Here Jesus clearly states that believers would be able to do even greater miracles than he did, amongst which the healing of the sick has been the most common stated miracle in the NT. Like I said, either Jesus's promise is not true or that Zero is not a "true" believer of Jesus.

Acts of
loving-kindness now supersede sacrifices as the preferred way of attaining God's forgiveness. ~ R' Yochanan ben Zakkai
