Shalom to everyone; I hope that this post finds you doing well, HaShem willing!
I apologize for the rather silly title to this topic, but I thought it might be a good way to locate this question later on if someone were to look for it. While responding to a post in the Noahide Forum, an interesting point was brought up that I thought may need to be made into a question and brought here for an answer. An individual was mentioning that he was a Noahide, and the point that was brought up was that unless a Gentile goes before a Beit Din to make an official declaration of acceptance of the Seven Categories of Laws of Noach, that this person would not be considered a Noahide.
I must admit that I to have called myself a Noahide, and I must apologize to anyone I may have mislead by using that name as I myself have not went before a Beit Din to declare my acceptance of the Seven Categories of Laws of Noach. With that being said, I am wondering if there is a more proper name that one may use in my situation? I have decided that until I can come up with a proper answer I will just refer to myself as a "Gentile who is studying the Seven Categories of Laws of Noach." As one can see, that is a pretty large "title" as it were, so my question comes to this:
What should a gentile, who is learning of and trying to practice the Seven Categories of Laws of Noach, call themselves if they have yet to go before a Beit Din to declare their acceptance of the Laws?
I thank you for taking the time to read my question, and any responses would be most beneficial!
Best regards,
Les
