How do you explain Esther 3:7? It seems to say the lot was cast "from (the) day to (the) day, and from (the) month to the twelfth month..." Usually, translators add some words, so it says "from day to day, and from month to month, to the twelfth month..."
Esther 3:12 says it was the thirteenth day of the first month, and the lot was on the thirteenth day of the twelfth month. I was thinking that it could mean that the lot was put on the number 13 and shaken and caused to fall onto the number 13, and then it was put on the first month and shaken and caused to fall onto the twelfth month. This way it could say the lot was cast "from the day (the thirteenth day) to the day (also the thirteenth day), and from the month (the first month) to the twelfth month" without having to add any words.
Do any commentators say anything like this?
